New: research and innovation news
A new page on the year's major research prizes and new funding, from the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and the Fields Medals to the Kavli and Breakthrough Prizes.
New: funded PhD and research positions
A new page lists salaried PhD posts, doctoral fellowships and postdocs at Lund, Uppsala, Oslo, Copenhagen and ETH Zurich.

For all ten countries: the proof of funds for a student visa, the hours you may work, and how long you can stay to look for a job.
New route: Bowdoin College (USA)
Need-blind admission for international applicants, with 100% of calculated need met and no loans. Early Decision 1 closes on 15 November; Early Decision 2 and Regular Decision close on 5 January.
New route: Danish Government Scholarships
Tuition waivers and grants towards living costs for highly qualified non-EU/EEA students on full degree programmes. Each Danish university selects its own scholars and sets its own dates.
DAAD: doctoral rate in the EPOS call
DAAD's EPOS call lists €1,400 a month for doctoral candidates from February 2026, up from €1,300. Its general scholarship overview still lists €1,300.
TU Wien: non-EU application windows
The winter semester 2026/27 window for non-EU/EEA applicants closed on 15 July 2026. The summer semester 2027 window runs from 16 July 2026 to 15 January 2027.
Mastercard Foundation Scholars at ASU: 2027–28 call closed
Applications for the 2027–28 cohort closed on 27 September 2026 at 23:59 GMT.
