How to apply
- Choose the Danish university and programme you want to apply to
- Check that university's own admission details for the government scholarship, as each institution administers its own scheme
- Apply for admission to the full degree programme through that institution
- Enquire directly with the institution for further details on how the scholarship is awarded, since there is no central application process
Before you apply: things to know
- The number of scholarships each university receives is limited
- Universities, not a central government body, select which students are awarded a scholarship
- The scholarship may be a full or partial tuition waiver and/or a living costs grant - the exact combination depends on the institution
- Students who have a residence permit granted under the Danish Aliens Consolidation Act §9c, subsection 1 as the child of a foreign citizen with a permit under §9m (where that citizen is from a non-EU/EEA country) are not eligible
- No single deadline applies across all universities - check with your chosen institution
Common questions
Is there one application for all Danish government scholarships?
No. The scholarships are administered by individual Danish universities, so you apply through the institution offering your chosen programme.
Does the scholarship always cover both tuition and living costs?
Not necessarily. It can be a full or partial tuition fee waiver, a living costs grant, or both, depending on the university.
Can EU/EEA students apply for this scholarship?
No. This scholarship is specifically for highly qualified non-EU/EEA students and Switzerland, enrolled in a full degree programme in Denmark.
