TU Wien: funding, eligibility and deadlines

What the funding covers

Non-EU students pay €726.72 tuition per semester from their first semester, plus the ÖH students' union fee each semester.
Citizens of about 45 least-developed countries (the list in Annex 1 of the tuition-fee decree, including Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Nepal, Yemen and Zambia) have a general exemption and pay only the ÖH fee for their whole degree.
No living allowance: budget for Vienna's living costs and the residence permit's proof of funds yourself.

Open to all nationalities; for a master's you need a relevant bachelor's degree that TU Wien accepts as equivalent to its own.
Most bachelor's programmes are taught in German. A number of master's programmes are taught fully in English and set their own English requirement.
Admission to a master's is decided on your previous degree's content, so module descriptions matter.

Choose your programme and check its language and admission requirements.
Register in TISS and submit the application with all documents and certifications.
Non-EU/EEA citizens must submit a complete application within the special deadline: 16 January – 15 July 2026 for winter semester 2026/27, and 16 July 2026 – 15 January 2027 for summer semester 2027.
Once admitted, enrol in person at the Admissions Office (Karlsplatz 13) by 31 October (winter) or 31 March (summer) and pay the semester fee.

The non-EU deadline (15 July / 15 January) is months earlier than TU Wien's general admission periods — the general dates do not apply to you.
Assessment of a foreign bachelor's degree can take around three months, so apply early in the window, not near its end.
Enrolment is completed in person in Vienna, so plan your visa and arrival before the enrolment cut-off.
