Who can apply
- Citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
- Your Uppsala master's must be your first choice among the four you rank on University Admissions, and you must meet its entry requirements.
- You must show academic talent and interest in an educational environment.
- Some master's programmes, including several in biology, humanities and game design, are not eligible; Uppsala lists them.

Every nationality except citizens of the European Union, the EEA countries outside the EU and Switzerland.

- Your universityadmissions.se application, with the fee paid and documents complete.
- The scholarship application, by 1 February 2027.
How to apply
- Apply to the master's on universityadmissions.se by 15 January 2027, with Uppsala first.
- Pay the application fee and send complete documents by University Admissions' deadline of 1 February 2027.
- Submit the scholarship application between 16 January and 1 February 2027, following Uppsala's application guide.

- About 2% of applicants receive one, so have another way to fund your studies.
- It does not pay living costs.
- Check your programme is not on Uppsala's list of excluded programmes before you rely on it.
Common questions
When can I apply for the Uppsala Global Scholarship for 2027?
The scholarship application is open from 16 January to 1 February 2027 for students starting in autumn 2027. You must also apply for your master's by 15 January 2027 with Uppsala as your first choice.
How competitive is it?
Very. Uppsala says about 2% of those who apply receive a scholarship.
