What the funding covers
- The tuition fee for your whole programme: four semesters for most master's, two for a one-year master's and six for a bachelor's.
- FAS+ insurance while you hold the scholarship.
- Living and accommodation costs are not included.
What you will still pay
| Cost | Who pays |
|---|---|
| Tuition fee for your whole programme | The scholarship, in full, if you win it |
| Swedish university application fee | You, when you apply on universityadmissions.se |
| Living and accommodation costs in Gothenburg | You; the scholarship does not cover them |
| Swedish residence permit | You; apply as soon as you are awarded the scholarship |
Who can apply
- You must be required to pay tuition fees in Sweden: in general, citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. You do not need to have paid the fee before applying.
- You must apply for an international campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg and rank it first on universityadmissions.se by 15 January 2027. If you apply to several Gothenburg programmes, only your first choice counts.
- To be awarded it you must be admitted to a full-time master's or to one of these full-time bachelor's programmes: Software Engineering and Management, Computer Science and AI, International Relations, Business and Economics, or the BFA programmes in Metal Art, Wood Oriented Furniture Design and Craft (Crafting Futures).
Which nationalities can apply
Every nationality except citizens of the European Union, the EEA countries outside the EU and Switzerland.

Before you apply: things to know
- You must be admitted as well as selected, and only your first-choice programme counts.
- Sweden's residence permit asks you to show money to support yourself, and the scholarship does not pay living costs.
- If your permit does not come in time to start your programme, the scholarship is withdrawn, and a late permit is not a valid reason for deferring.
- To keep the scholarship you must complete at least 75% of the credits each semester.
