About the position
The Laboratory of Epigenetics and Chromatin Dynamics, led by Christopher Douse in the Department of Experimental Medical Science, studies how repetitive elements are regulated in human brain development and disease.
The project looks at clustered protocadherin repeat genes, retrotransposons and CGG microsatellite repeats, combining chromatin biochemistry with functional genomics in stem cell models of the brain.
What you will do
- Work with stem cell cultures, including iPSCs and 2D and 3D neural progenitors.
- Run RNA-seq, CUT&RUN or CUT&Tag and Oxford Nanopore sequencing, and analyse the data.
- Use co-immunoprecipitation or proximity labelling proteomics.
- You may also supervise bachelor's or master's students.
Who can apply
- A second-cycle degree, or at least 240 credits with at least 60 at second-cycle level, or equivalent knowledge from Sweden or abroad.
- Experience in functional genomics or chromatin biochemistry, and in stem cell culture and differentiation.
- Excellent molecular biology and genetics knowledge, and excellent spoken and written English.
What is offered
- A salaried, fixed-term, full-time doctoral post at Lund University. The vacancy gives no salary figure.
