Arizona State University's Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program has opened Phase III, Innovation and Technology, with 50 graduate study places for young African professionals. Applications close on Sunday 22 November at 23:59 GMT.

Scholars take a full-time ASU Online master's degree while living in Kigali, Rwanda, and must relocate there for the whole programme. The degrees on offer are the MS Business Analytics, MCS Computer Science, MS Engineering in Sustainable Engineering, MS Global Technology and Development, MS Information Technology and MS User Experience.

The scholarship covers full tuition, housing, healthcare coverage and support during the programme. ASU also lists visa processing costs, an English test voucher if one is required, an application fee waiver, transport to and from Kigali, required books and student fees, and medical support.

This is a different offer from the program's earlier call for on-campus master's study, which closed on 27 September 2026. The page for Phase III lists no detailed eligibility criteria, so read its FAQ and flyer before applying.

Our ASU listing has the details, and our Mastercard Foundation page lists the other partner universities.

Why it matters: It is a fully supported master's for young African professionals who can move to Kigali, and it closes in three weeks. This call replaces on-campus study with an online degree, so read the terms first.
