The Swedish Institute has published the key dates for its Scholarships for Global Professionals for study starting in autumn 2027.

Applicants first apply to Swedish master's programmes through University Admissions between 16 October 2026 and 15 January 2027. The SI scholarship portal then opens from 8 to 24 February 2027. University admission results come on 1 April 2027, and SI announces its scholarships on 22 April 2027.

The scholarship pays full tuition, SEK 12,000 a month, a travel grant and insurance, for early-career professionals from the countries on SI's list. That list can change each year, so check it for this intake.

Our Swedish Institute listing has the steps. Sweden's universities also offer their own tuition waivers, which we list in our guide to tuition fee waivers in Europe.

Why it matters: The scholarship window is only about two weeks, and you cannot use it unless you applied to a Swedish master's first. The step that catches people out is the one due on 15 January.
