Imperial College London has set the dates for its President's PhD Scholarships for 2027-28. Applications close at 23:59 UK time on 2 November 2026, 11 January 2027 and 1 March 2027, with awards announced by 31 January, 15 April and 31 May 2027.
Each of the 50 scholarships pays full tuition for 3.5 years, a stipend of £27,036 a year at the 2027-28 rate and £2,000 a year for research consumables for the first three years. Funded places must start between 1 August and 1 November 2027.
Imperial sets no nationality limit, though some departments may be unable to support international candidates. Applicants need a first-class undergraduate or integrated master's degree, or a distinction in a standalone master's, and departments can put forward special cases.
There is no separate form. Candidates find a supervisor who agrees to take them, apply for a PhD place and select the scholarship in the funding section. The supervisor cannot also act as a referee.
