What the funding covers
- A grant of €10,225 per academic year (2026–27 rate), for one year on a 60-credit master's or two years on a 120-credit master's.
- A tuition waiver: the host institution may charge only the lowest local rate, which was €136.50 for 2026–27.
Who can apply
- Outstanding students applying to a master's programme at a participating Flemish higher-education institution.
- For 2026–27, places were set aside for applicants from priority countries: Japan (3), Mexico (3), Palestine (2) and the United States (5).
- The Flemish government says the grant, selection process and rules may change for 2027–28 while the scheme is under review.
How to apply
- Apply for admission to an eligible master's programme at a Flemish university or university college.
- Applications for the scholarship go through the host institution, which pre-selects candidates.
- Watch the Study in Flanders page for the 2027–28 call; past calls closed in spring for study starting that September.
Before you apply: things to know
- The 2027–28 call had not been published when we checked, and eligibility may be narrower than in earlier years.
- Many websites still describe Master Mind as open to every nationality with the old €9,600 amount — both are out of date.
- If your country is not a priority country, treat this as a long shot and apply for other funding too.
